I have always told my American friends coming to Paris “Do not wear Jeans and Sneakers as you are not looking French Chic. Do try to look French Chic when in Paris”. Well Surprise Surprise, the chicest look today on the “Parisian Street” are Jeans and Sneakers, but Jeans and Sneakers done French Chic.

French Couture is an understanding of clever seaming, and timeless design. Today’s Jeans are both. Did Coco Chanel ever imagine there would be a Blue jean Chanel suit? Well I knew Coco and she would have loved it! Coco loved to shock. Don’t forget she invented the pant and even invented “sportswear.”

The new Chanel pant has new full flared seaming and has the new midi length.
THIS SUMMER YOU MUST SHOW ANKLE SKIN. IT’S A SIGN SAYING YOU ARE COOL.
YOUR SKIRT OR PANT MUST SHOW 4 to 8 inches of ANKLE SKIN….for men as well as woman you must show ankle skin in 2019.

Gucci ( not Chanel) does the classic Chanel suit in dark blue Jean. It is made even more glamorous with a Twilly scarf tied in a fifties style.

Coco would have be shocked to see her star designer, Karl Lagerfeld’s blue jean jacket window on his boutique on Blvd St Germain having affordable prêt à porter, something Coco always refused to do. But these are NEW TIMES on FASHION PLANET EARTH.

Coco however, would have approved of him using his name KARL and his cat Choupette as a Logo. She invented the use of a Logo. If you are a young designer DO DEVELOP YOUR LOGO.

The Jean shoe is now the hot pump. Here it costs almost 300$.

The Jean boot, like the sneaker, is worn best with contrasting very dressy outfits, even tulle ball gown skirts so the Jean shoe and the accessory are used to create the new look WEAR CONTRAST FASHION STYLES such as an haute couture T Shirt with the wildest Jean skirt with the sleeves as a belt.

New Shapes of Jean seaming, new patchwork design and new mixed Jean colors are The New Jean Look, and are worn with vintage hippy print skirts and print tops, also broderie anglaise white skirts.

Patchwork Jeans and jeans where all the seams are different Jean colors is the new new thing! New Jean details such as ruffled seams and cut up jeans sewn together are turning the Jean into ART!

The newest Jean in my favorite Parisien store, Le Bon Marche, is the “Cut Out Diamond Side Overall”. It is So New that the same cut out as a dress was just mentioned in Marilyn Kirchner’s blog on the front page shown by Ralph Rucci, this week.

When a New Look is happening in Fashion, within days, designers, influencers and women with multiple homes in the fashion world can discover and take on the newest required fashions in days, not months as it used to be. Ah, the World is Now One.

How to wear the new jean look for summer of 2019!

Wear it with a white eyelet vintage skirt and vintage lacy blouse and sneakers
Wear it with vintage hippy print blouses.
Wear it as a jean jumpsuit without anything under, also as a bare white jean jumpsuit with a short midi length flared pant. Add a very wide straw hat with wide ribbons or flowers with African hats, belts, bags so you look like you are just back from South Africa, as African accessories especially jewelry are the newest “in” designs. 

With your new jeans with the yellow jacket and yellow cross body bag, the hot fashion color as well as the protest color!

Fashion Designers love to mess with the Government leaders by turning Protest into Art.

This lady artist on the Rue de Charonne is a perfect example of using jeans with hip accessories to be Cool! She has an African hat and an African crossover bag, the Jean overall with the full flared pant and the required white Sneakers. Maybe she just arrived from Joberg and hasn’t cut her pants off the required 6 inches to show her ankle skin, but she is so cool that she soon will.
