Linda Fargo’s Luxurious Birthday Blowout

By all accounts, Linda Fargo’s birthday celebration has been ongoing for at least a month, if not longer (actually, every day seems to be Linda’s birthday, lol). Still, Monday, March 31st, was Linda’s actual birthday. Linda invited 75 friends and clients (“an Ad Hoc fun group”) to join her for cocktails and dinner at Caviar Kaspia at The Mark Hotel to mark the occasion.

Because Linda notoriously loves a “good theme,” she made sure the invitation included the directive “Black Caviar & a Red Kiss.” Naturally, Linda stole the show in her Schiaparelli flame-red gown with a cutout midriff. The addition of a black bodysuit served as a creative punctuation mark.

“Thank you all for coming out on a rainy Monday night and bringing your best selves. It been a crazy, weird winter, and it’s time to look ahead, to celebrate joy and glamour, old and new friends.” – Linda Fargo.

Among the fashionable guests, many of whom factored in the theme (or at least part of it), was her main squeeze Tony Brand, Alina Cho, Lauren Ezersky, legendary Vogue editor and stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, fashion designer Christopher John Rogers and Carly Cushnie, Ladies of Madison Avenue’s Joshua Kamei, June Ambrose, Maria McManus, James Aguilar, John Demsey, Bianca Jebbia, and interior designer Cecily Waud.

Cecily and I seemed to be on the same wavelength in terms of our beribboned footwear, also carrying through the color code of the evening.

Naturally, there was a large contingent from Bergdorf Goodman, which included Tracy Margolies. Almost three decades after starting her career at Bergdorf as an intern, Tracy is back again, this time as the venerable retailer’s new president, effective December 2024.

“Everyone would agree Caviar Kaspia is a happy place. I don’t know anyone who has gone to Caviar Kaspia and been unhappy. Thank you for hosting us tonight.” – Linda Fargo.

In a short pre dinner speech, Linda thanked everyone for coming and of course, gave a shout out to Caviar Kaspia. While Linda agrees that the restaurant can be seen as formal and precious, it manages to be playful thanks to 4 “generous, joyful people” who “make the impossible possible.”

Dinner settings

Among them are Sarah Senbahar and her husband and property developer, Izak Senbahar, owners of The Mark Hotel, who partnered with Caviar Kaspia as part of the Parisian restaurant’s global expansion. They always manage to bring their best selves and their best moods, which is infectious, opines Fargo.

But let’s not forget Caviar Kaspia’s main attraction: the food, specifically, caviar. Last evening, the first course of Kamchatka King Crab & Rock Shrimp was on the menu, followed by the restaurant’s signature dish: a baked potato topped with Imperial Baeri Caviar. The Tarte au Chocolate for dessert comprised dark chocolate ganache and dark chocolate pearls resembling caviar.

At each place setting, what appeared to be a tin of caviar was emblazoned with “Linda’s.” The thoughtful memento held a trio of bracelets comprised of tiny black beads resembling caviar.
