Vicky Tiel’s Paris Street Fashion

I meet my former model, Vivien Démonge at the latest Paris restaurant happening. This year Vivien says it’s LA GIRAFE on 1 Place de Trocadéro. We ate opposite La Tour Eiffel on the terrace. La Girafe is known for the lobster plate but I must say they also have the world’s greatest mashed potatoes and profiteroles for desert.

Vivien insists we need long MIDI dresses for daywear for this summer in coral, yellow and shocking electric colors. We should wear the new long skirts with huge mod sneakers but alas as we are not the “Sneaker Type”, we will wear wild African sandals instead. Vivien also lives in Nassau at Lyford Cay, where she can wear summer fashion all year.

MAJE has the fresh Liberty style mixed prints in the long skirts. It’s another updated vintage look. The midi length skirts are also worn with high boots, but always skin is showing above the shoe and socks are out! The raggedy unfinished jeans this summer are short and wide stopping 6 to 8 inch above the floor.

The MAJE  dress is the “Gilet Jaune protester” color brought to fashion life this season. It has a bare back at the midriff and is a daywear look perfect for St Trop or The Hamptons summer parties

ÉTRO on Blvd St Germain has beautiful prints on their dresses with long skirts, with ruffles and asymmetry They are the top Italian printmakers. I often used ETRO fabrics in my gowns. Now this dress is summer daywear, highlighted by the African sandal. It can be worn under a long hip jean jacket with patch pockets.

Long dressy midi skirts are made of textured vintage cloth and embroidered white eyelet and worn all mixed up with casual T shirts and Hoodies that all have large Print Sayings ! Daywear and Evening wear are all mixed up for this Summer 2019.

African style Sandals in corals make the long skirt of the summer gown into daywear. The African influence for 2019 is everywhere from Fashion, Art, and Home Decor.

The sneaker is the statement shoe of the summer. It is worn here with The POP ART skirt . Sneakers are also worn with with luxe beaded evening gowns and with beaded Jean Jackets for summer Hampton weddings. How elaborate your sneaker can be takes you to the highest fashion dimension. Platform sneakers are best with pleated long skirts in gold lame silk. The more beads on your sneaker the better. Summer 2019 is like no other, your closet is your palette to mix and match and mix and contrast. Have fun!
